Corey is the former Acting VP of UX and Design for BET Digital, where he spent two years overseeing creative direction, user experience, and digital design strategy across the organization. He also served as the Art Director at BET Digital for six years, leading a talented team of four, including Senior Designers, Motion Designers, and Photo Editors. In these roles, Corey guided both Junior and Senior Designers through a wide range of design projects, ensuring each outcome was cohesive, impactful, and aligned with the brand’s vision. His collaborative approach also extended to working closely with other teams across the organization, integrating diverse perspectives to achieve unified goals.

Corey has had the privilege of overseeing digital graphics for some of the industry’s most prestigious award shows, including the BET Awards, BET Experience, Hip Hop Awards, NAACP Image Awards, and Soul Train Awards. This includes creating social graphics and overseeing motion graphics for social platforms, website experiences, app design, and at times stage graphic design.

Throughout his career, Corey has also managed larger teams of up to eight members, including Art Directors, Senior Designers, Motion Designers, and Photo Editors. He oversaw the production of all digital design elements within the BET Digital ecosystem, including motion graphics for digital content, social media graphics, and immersive red carpet experiences. His seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams ensured that all design elements were strategically aligned, delivering exceptional results.

 

With over 17 years of experience in the creative industry, Corey’s career spans multiple roles, from Junior Designer to Senior Designer, to Art Director at BET Digital for six years, and most recently Acting VP of UX and Design for two years.

 

Corey’s passion for design began early, creating set designs, promotional posters, t-shirts, and yearbook art in high school. In college, he expanded his skill set by designing flyers, apparel, posters, and cover art for local businesses, personalities, and emerging musicians.

Outside of his professional work, Corey dedicates his free time to exploring new techniques, refining his artistic skills, and working on personal design projects that continue to fuel his creativity.
