Corey is the Lead Art Director at BET Digital, where he leads a talented team of four, including Senior Designers, Motion Designers, and Photo Editors. In his role, Corey guides both Junior and Senior Designers through a wide range of design projects, ensuring each outcome is cohesive, impactful, and aligned with the brand’s vision. His collaborative approach also extends to working closely with other teams across the organization, integrating diverse perspectives to achieve unified goals.

Throughout his career, Corey has also managed larger teams of up to eight members, including Art Directors, Senior Designers, Motion Designers, and Photo Editors. He oversees the production of all digital design elements within the BET Digital ecosystem, including motion graphics for digital content, social media graphics, and immersive red carpet experiences. His seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams ensures that all design elements are strategically aligned, delivering exceptional results.

Corey has had the privilege of delivering digital graphics for some of the industry's most prestigious award shows, including the BET Awards, BET Experience, Hip Hop Awards, NAACP Image Awards, and Soul Train Awards. This includes creating social graphics (often exceeding 400 pieces per show) as well as motion graphics for social platforms, website experiences, app design, and stage graphic design.

 

With over 17 years of experience in the creative industry, Corey’s career spans multiple roles, from Junior Designer to Senior Designer, and now Art Director at BET Digital since 2017. His journey reflects his unwavering commitment to innovative design and creative excellence.

 

Corey’s passion for design began early, creating set designs, promotional posters, t-shirts, and yearbook art in high school. In college, he expanded his skill set by designing flyers, apparel, posters, and cover art for local businesses, personalities, and emerging musicians.

Outside of his professional work, Corey dedicates his free time to exploring new techniques, refining his artistic skills, and working on personal design projects that continue to fuel his creativity.
